NEWLY APPOINTED US DA TO GHANA MAKES MAIDEN VISIT TO CNS

The newly appointed United States (US) Defence Attaché (DA) to Ghana, has paid familiarization visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu at the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday 20 February, 2024.

Lt Col Brian, tabled a discussion on various matters of mutual interest relating to defence and security with the aim of fostering greater cooperation and strengthening the partnership between both forces. He pledged to continue the existing collaboration and partnership with the Ghana Navy.

The CNS congratulated the DA and emphasised the importance of collaboration between the defence forces. He highlighted the need for continuous dialogue and information sharing to ensure a safe and secured maritime domain. “The goal is to achieve security at sea” he added.

He thanked the US Government for their immense support to the Ghana Navy in the area of training and logistics, and opens up for more of such initiatives. He urged the DA to explore the Ghanaian culture and its hospitable people.

Rear Admiral Yakubu climaxed the meeting with the presentation of a hand-woven stole and a plaque to the DA.
